Rose Burgweger
Rose Burgweger is a former graphic designer, who worked for many years in the Chicago area. Much of her photography is done locally in everday places, looking up at the sky, out at the fields and trees, and down country roads. She is particularly attacted to light on rural roads and Kansas skies throughout the seasons. Rose uses those photographs of her surroundings to interweave with scripture.
The photographs in this exhibit are from her “The Skies Declare the Glory of God” series. Rose’s work is available without frames/matts or framed/matted Geclee and satin prints (with and without text). She has created her own line of inspirational notecards and prints available at several locations in the city.
Rose has had multiple exhibitions around the area including Hidden Glen Art Show, Buttonwood Art Space, DeSoto Arts Council Annual Show, and Zimmermans KillCreek Farm.
Carolyn Dvorak
My goal is to encourage and inspire through images of God’s world and some of my work is combined with scripture – leading to the title of my line, “The Nature of God.” All of my earlier work was with film, but now the majority is digital. I believe God’s creation is amazing as it is, so little or nothing is done to change what my camera captures at any moment in time.
Pictures have appeared in KANSAS! Magazine and calendar; Visions of the Flint Hills Art Benefit and Sale; Imago Dei Arts Center; St. Paul’s School of Theology; Homer’s Coffee House; ARTichokes; Buttonwood Art Space; Healthridge Fitness Center; Roeland Park City Hall and numerous art shows.
My husband, Kent, and I live in De Soto, Kansas where we have raised three boys and pets.
Rose and Carolyn’s work can be viewed through March 31, 2011
